More Than Just Sun Protection

Anyone familiar with “Blackbox Richter” probably thinks of exclusive vehicle wraps when they hear the word “wrapping.” But for his modern company building—which truly lives up to the name “Blackbox”—owner Mingo Richter has also opted for architectural films, though of course not just any “ordinary silver wrap.”

The expansive glass surfaces give the building a modern, high-end look. At the same time, however, sunlight caused significant heat buildup inside the workspaces. Therefore, a solution was needed that would combine functional heat protection with a striking aesthetic that complements the building.

The BRUXSAFOL AX PLUS SB 20 sun control film was installed on approximately 100 square meters of glass. It reduces heat gain even more efficiently than “standard silver films” and allows more daylight into the rooms.

Visually, too, the film was exactly the right choice: Its highly reflective, bronze-colored exterior accentuates the clean, dark architecture and gives the building a particularly striking, exclusive appearance. In addition, the view from the inside out is in a warm, pleasant hue. The result shows that architectural films can do more than just provide heat protection. When chosen correctly, they become a design element of the architecture. And the company owner, Mingo Richter? He took a liking to the flat glass film and has permanently added it to his product line.
